Celebrating Michael Stephens |
DASH Agent of the Month

At DASH Carolina, our team is built on a shared belief: real estate is about much more than just a transaction. It is about helping people find their true sense of belonging. This month, we are incredibly proud to celebrate Michael Stephens, a dedicated agent who brings high energy, deep community roots, and local expertise to our Charlotte Metro surrounding market.

Serving as a trusted real estate guide throughout the area, Michael has spent the last year and a half at DASH showing that the best agents do not just show properties—they help clients get plugged into the active heartbeat of their new neighborhoods.

From Big City Life to Optimist Park: A Journey Rooted in Connection

Michael's journey to North Carolina spans a well-traveled path across the country, including time spent living in Ohio, Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and Miami. Beyond his time across the U.S., Michael is an avid global traveler who has visited over 40 states and more than 30 countries. But after seventeen years in the Tar Heel State, North Carolina is firmly home. What brought him back initially? The ultimate local draw: being close to family.

"I love so many things about NC: the climate, opportunity, pace, and the people," Michael shares. "NC has such beautiful nature, from the Mountains to the Outer Banks."

Settling into Charlotte's vibrant Optimist Park neighborhood, Michael experienced firsthand what makes the city's pocket communities so special.

"Optimist Park is one of the best little pockets in the city. Walkable to the light rail and on the greenway trail, I can be anywhere in the city in minutes!" Michael says. "In the mornings, my 3-year-old French Bulldog, Jupie, and I often walk up to Rosie's Coffee & Wine Garden, which has beautiful inside and outside seating. Or I hit my local gym, Sweat 440 NoDa, followed by a breakfast burrito from Rhino Market. There are so many great restaurants and things to do in the area."

Living Like a Local: Michael's Charlotte Insider Guide

For Michael, taking advantage of the Queen City lifestyle means staying active, staying connected, and taking in the local sights. Whether he is hosting out-of-town guests or planning a quick escape, his local playbook keeps you tapped into Charlotte's best assets.

When friends come to visit, Michael's go-to routine involves curated local food and drink experiences at staples like Reid's Fine Foods, the bustling local scene in Optimist Park, and the garden views at Rosie's.

If you are looking for the absolute best view of the Queen City skyline, Michael points straight to the Hawthorne Street Bridge between Elizabeth and Plaza Midwood. "I also love when you are approaching the city from I-77, headed south," he adds. "Every time I see the skyline from ten-plus miles away, I still get excited!"

When he isn't guiding clients through the market, Michael stays heavily involved in local rec sports, regularly playing in softball, volleyball, and bowling leagues. He also highlights Charlotte's impressive park system, noting that the city boasts one of the largest metropolitan green canopies in the country. For a quick local adventure, his ultimate day-trip destination is the US National Whitewater Center.

"It has several activities for all walks of life, from rafting to cycling to ziplining. They also host several events throughout the year with live concerts, ice skating, fireworks, and a great restaurant with a balcony to enjoy!" Michael says.

Real Estate Advice & Charlotte Bucket Lists

Having lived in several major metros across the country and traveled extensively around the world, Michael brings a sharp, well-rounded perspective to relocating clients looking to settle down in the Charlotte region. His top takeaway? Get out and experience the energy of the city's sports, nature, and seasonal events.

Living in Optimist Park gives Michael quick walkability to Panthers games, Charlotte FC matches, and major shows at the Spectrum Center. But when the winter holidays roll around, his absolute favorite backyard tradition happens right on the diamond.

"Truist Field, home of the Charlotte Knights Baseball team, hosts a Christmas event every year that is amazing with snow sledding, ice skating, and shopping for the holidays. And if you don't mind a short 20-minute drive, McAdenville is 'Christmastown USA'!"
