Working with Gerrit was a delight, even in spite of the crazy housing market in Durham. Gerrit was honest with us, didn't pressure us to offer more than we were comfortable with, and was patient. We searched with him for ~4 months and after getting outbid over and over (due to our lack of savings) we took a ~9 month break from searching. Out of the blue on a Saturday we emailed him to view our now current home, we had a tour with him Sunday morning and went under contract that Tuesday.

Beyond his helpful expertise in evaluating houses (my wife and I were first time home buyers), Gerrit provided significant value in how to put our offer together, he even suggested we lower our winning bid because he thought we could get it for less (and we did!).
